Residence for Abandoned Elderly, Peru

Project Leader:

Sister Sister M. Ancilla Maloney

A mission located 11,500 feet high in the South Andes Mountains has a large population of hungry, sick and abandoned elderly. The majority of the people in the area make a living as farmers and herdsmen and are unable to help care for these vulnerable adults. Family members have had to make a heartbreaking decision to leave behind in search for employment. Consequently, the elderly live-in run-down adobe homes with no electricity or indoor water sources. Please help The Franciscan Sisters construct a residence with a soup kitchen and rooms.

Dear Sherry, Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness! Think warm, nutritious food in a clean dining room prepared by folks who love and care for those who are our residents. As we get closer to May, the weather here turns very cold and is especially hard on our old folks. Their Quechua community is very concerned for their welfare and you will bring the dream of a home for them to reality!!! Thanks so much for your gift. God bless you and yours, Sister Ancilla

Dear Anonymous, Thanks so much for your donation to build our residence for the elderly. They have so many needs for food, warmth, people who love and care for them-all part of the dream of the Sisters who want to build the residence to care for them. Your donation is part of our efforts little by little to make the dream become a reality. Thanks for being a part of this effort for God's poorest and most precious ones! Sister Ancilla
