Project Leader:
Reverend Fr. Varghese Alphonse
Fr. Varghese Alphonse of the Diocese of Jasikan, in Kpassa, the district capital of Nkwanta, in the Oti region in Ghana, is the project leader. Under his care are 17 village communities. The people are mostly farmers. His goal and of the Franciscan Capuchin Friars is to confront the humanitarian needs of the people in these localities. Clean, safe drinking water for all is vital and providing children with an education is important as well. Today, the world is encountering serious challenges with the COVID – 19 pandemic. This project aims to assist essential workers with protective equipment and provide salaries. In their evangelization and compassionate works catechists are stationed at each post helping in any way possible. A gift of $25 can help feed a family or help buy cleaning agents.
Anonymous donated $50.
The care for the Co-workers was carried out through Covid Awareness Classes and distribution of Masks in Villages; through food stuff and stimulus to the workers in two of our Schools, Assisi Integrated Farm and Catechists.
