Ndekero Farm in Kenya needs support. This farm is run by the Nazareth Sisters of the Annunciation and they produce French beans, onion, tomatoes, maize, and potatoes. The goods are consumed by the Sisters, some is sold for income to help support the farm, and still some is distributed to charitable institutions. COVID-19 has brought the farming activities to an abrupt halt. To prevent the spread of the virus many farmers went home. It is crucial to keep some labor at the farm to secure production. A prevalent challenge is insecurity since the farm is not fenced and some people take advantage and steal produce especially now that there are fewer personnel on the ground. The need is urgent to put up a barbed wire with chain link especially on the two sides of the road to keep thieves at bay. Charitable institutions especially the mentally, elderly, and physically challenged persons depend on the food provisions set aside by Ndekero Farm. The farm responds to a social responsibility in line with a Charism to Announce and Witness to God’s love to the needy, particularly women and children, but it is difficult especially during this ongoing pandemic. A gift of $25 helps secure farm labor.
Anonymous donated $100.
Thank you dear friends for assisting us to keep going during this COVID-19 pandemic. We still need more food and masks and to complete the fencing since we have secured only two sides and some days ago some thieves harvested some Irish potatoes from our farm entering through the unfenced side. We still need to secure labour to keep the farm. God bless you and reward your generosity. Sr. Adelina
Thanks to our donors, today we distributed some food, mask and sanitizers. We need more food since most people are not staying at home for fear of the disease. With $100 we can secure 3 sacks of maize including transport.
Thank you dear friends for contributing towards our project to provide security, food and sanitation for our people especially during this hard time. With a $100 we able able to buy two bundles of barbed wire for the fencing. We shall need about 30 bundles and other materials including fencing poles, sand, ballast and cement, plus labour. for the families in our neighbourhood, we have already bought some food, masks and sanitizers. Thank you for extending your helping hand.
