Prevent Virus Transmission in Zomba, Malawi

Project Leader:

Reverend Isaac Tsegula

The Namitembo Farm in the Zomba Diocese of Malawi includes Namitembo parish and the Chipini Rural Hospital. In light of COVID-19, the farm has several objectives: (1) financial assistance for farm workers; (2) awareness programs around COVID-19 (i.e., how it spreads, prevention and measures to be put in place) for the workers and the surrounding three villages and social institutions; (3) provision of sanitary materials such as hand sanitizers, disinfectants, plastic pails with taps, basins, gloves, liquid hand-washing soap, disposable hand towels and face masks to the Farm, Namitembo Parish and Chipini Rural Hospital.

Through the funding of Missio USA we are still aggressive to restrict Namitembo Farm Workers to wear face masks every day and in the execution of their duties. The support keeps on helping in controlling the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic among the poor people of Zomba.

We are very grateful Ariel for the timely support you have rendered to our effort to reach out with preventive control measures against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Zomba. Each day cases are increasing with many deaths. Your support will help purchase face masks for women and children within our reach. Once again thank you!

On behalf of the implementation team of the project I wish to thank you sincerely for the donation you have made for preventive control measures against COVID-19 in Zomba. Your support will help to save wages for a fortnight of a worker at Namitembo Farm during this time when the farm can not afford paying the workers anymore. Thank you once again!
