Brother Isidore Luyinda
Kiteredde Dairy Farm and Mityebiri Beef Farms were started by Bannakaroli Brothers Institute in Uganda in the early 1960s to help with food products for the Brothers and the community, and to help the Institute with income. Wars throughout the years interfered with the operation of the farms, and now COVID-19 has produced a number of challenges. Our greatest needs right now are for the payment of workers’ wages, for veterinary services, and for the purchase of food for our workers. Besides the farms, the Brothers are engaged in the education of youth, as well as social work, and medical activities in Church founded hospitals. During COVID-19 our work in hospitals continues. Funds will be used to help supply the hospitals with good and sanitation during the lockdown.
On behalf the Bannakaroli Brothers I take this opportunity to thank the Pontifical Mission Society for the Covid-19 relief funds which came at a time we least expected it but most needed due to the challenges created by Corona Virus.
When the country was locked down due to Corona Virus, we lost much of our markets and the prices of our products especially the milk and passion fruits dropped drastically. The government is slowly re-opening the country but the situation is still far from getting to normal. Demand for farm products and their prices are still low. We still count on your assistance.
