Project Leader:
Reverend Takyia Joachim
The St. Francis of Assisi Parish, as part of its Youth Empowerment Program set up a Church farm in 2017 to train young people in agribusiness, organic farming and life employability skill. We focus on vegetable farming, piggery, bee keeping, snail rearing and mushroom production. Currently, the farm employs eleven young people and one volunteer. We have 2 boars, 7 sows and 12 piglets. A task at hand is to replace the wooden structure pen which is being destroyed by the pigs with block and concrete. In the wake of COVID – 19 we have not been able to continue with this undertaking as well as pay utilities and salaries. In addition to all of this, we have not had Church service for many weeks. We anticipate the rains will come through September. We need financial support to secure the pig pen, stockpile feed, medication, food, pay for labor and provide transportation when absolutely necessary. Your gift of $25 can help purchase bags of rice and liters of oil.
