Project Leader:
Reverend Anthony Korir
The project is requested for various villages in the Diocese of Dassa Zoume. One of the villages called Goussoue has 15,000 people. Most of the population in the area are peasant farmers with only about 5% of them involved in trading teaching and schooling. Drought and acute water shortages has been a perennial problem of the area. The only stable source of water is from the stream nearby of which the water is not treated, and it is used both for drinking and cooking. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, water has become an essential commodity to fighting the virus as many people are encouraged to wash hands often as a means of preventing the spread of the virus. The villagers have dug manual wells for portable water but faced with present dryness these wells are not able to supply enough water for the villages and its surrounding. This project seeks to drill two additional bore holes pumps to supplement the existing manual wells.
