The Diocese has so many vocations to the priesthood, but no resources to support the vocations. Most of these young men come from poor families which live on less than $2 per day. The Diocese is obliged to pay for them. As I write, the Diocese still has outstanding bills for the last semester. These young men are the future of the Catholic Church, not only in Zambia, but universally. We have a total of 49 Seminarians at different stages of formation.
Stephen donated $25.
Seminarians in class
Last week the treasurers of all the Dioceses met in the Capital City to discuss Seminary matters. Among the discussion points was on on adjustment on fees for our seminarians for the next academic year which begins in August, and, of course, it was an upward adjustment. The Diocese will have not less than 40 Seminarians (recruitment is still on). If we end up with 40 seminarians, we will need slightly over $40,000 for all of them for one academic year. The Lord has blessed us with vocations, but we do not have the means. I hope people of good will will come on board and help us. Thanks to our donors so far.
