COVID -19 Prevention and Preparedness, E.P., Kenya

Project Leader:

Sister Loina Irene

The Rotu community is in the remotest part of East Pokot in Kenya. COVID – 19 has locked down towns and people have moved into these rural areas, making outbreaks possible. People are anxious to secure a roof, employment and food. Preparedness is urgent! Despite the effort by the government to create awareness to its people, the Rotu community, among other interior communities in East Pokot are left out, only having heard of the disease but are not aware of its effects or preventive measures. Incarnate Word Sisters in collaboration with the chief in the area are trying to create awareness and offer support. Your gift of $25 can help the Sisters reach out and give food packets, medical kits as well as education and pastoral care to many vulnerable households.

Thank you dear one who has donated her &100 towards the effort to educate and prevent COVID 19 among the marginalized people of Pokot who are so traditional and belief that every situation is capped by cultural practices. Your donation will help in reaching out to some stations for awareness creation. At least about 100 people will be sensitized about the virus and its mode of spread and how to prevent it . Thank you so much and may God bless you and all others who have support us in any way. Sr Loina
