Support Vocations in the Pope’s Missions

Project Leader:

Pope Francis

Learn about a story of hope – one written 200 years ago by Jeanne Bigard and her mother, Stephanie. In the late 19th century France, they responded to a letter from a Bishop from their home country, serving in Japan. Their outreach established the Society of St. Peter Apostle in 1889, providing help for some 2,700 seminarians. The Society of St. Peter Apostle - one of the Pope's mission societies - helps support vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Missions. Your donation provides textbooks, technology, classrooms, housing/lodging, food, and medical care. This year, some 28,000 mission seminarians, mostly in Asia and Africa, are counting on your help - $700 for a year of study. Likewise, those preparing to be religious Sisters and Brothers in the Pope’s missions need annual help of $300. Take for example, Sister Mutinda, of the Incarnate Word Sisters in Kenya who relies on this generous support to help novices discern their calling. Their vocation can lead them to grow in their faith and give back to vulnerable communities with their time, compassion, and love. Religious Sisters do so much good in the health and education sectors. Continue the “story of hope” for mission seminarians and novitiates.
