Project Leader:
Dr. Maung John
We can all remember the teachers who made a difference in our lives. Give $25 to support these dedicated volunteer teachers in Myanmar. Due to six-decades of civil war, ethnic conflicts, and militarism, Myanmar (Burma) remains one of the poorest countries in the world. 1.3 percent of the country’s population is Catholic. Operating from Catholic Social Teachings, Dr. John and his volunteers combat poverty every way they can. They start with education. Volunteers from Yangon Diocese’s Agency for Basic Community Development go to remote Christian communities to teach basic literacy, hygiene, children’s rights, first-aid and community development. Support these teachers so they can make difference in their students’ lives.
