Build a Chicken Coop at a School in Madagascar

Project Leader:

Sister Claudine Rasoanjanahary

Sister Claudine and the community of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist operate residence and school for abandoned children in the village of Ambatolahy, Madagascar. There are 910,000 orphaned children in Madagascar. Child trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of abandoned children is a common phenomenon. Children are the most vulnerable segment of Madagascar’s population. 40 children live in the home and 300 children attend Sister Claudine’s primary school. She is raising money to build a chicken coop for the residence and school. The coop and its chickens will provide a sustainable source of food for the community and a source of income to help pay for other needs, including healthcare and education. Give $20 to help get this new project started.
