Build a Small Seminary in India

Project Leader:

Reverend Christhuraj James

Father Christhuraj James founded the Society of the Holy Spirit in Hyderbad, India. The Society forms its members in the Catholic faith, trains its members to be preachers, educates its members to be counsellors, and ordains its members as excellent pastors. The young Society has professed 12 priests and 13 deacons, and has 40 seminarians in formation. The seminarians come from many Dioceses in India. Father James is raising money to build a small formation house to act as a seminary for these new members. The 40 seminarians are currently living in a Carmelite community but they have been asked to leave in order to make room for the growing Carmelite community. Society of the Holy Spirit seminarians are trained not only Philosophy and Theology but also service work for the poor and suffering in Hyderbad. The formation house Father James plans to build will be set in vulnerable communities with a variety of pastoral needs. Give $25 to help build this Spirit-filled seminary for a new generation of Catholic leaders in India.
