Project Leader:
Sister Huguette Ostiguy
The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception are members of a religious congregation of women dedicated to serve in the nations of the world most in need. Founded in 1902 by Délia Tétreault (1865-1941) in Canada, they were the first such institute established in North America. Today, the Sisters are present in Asia, Africa, Central America and South America as well as in their native Canada. Sister Huguette is raising funds to help build a kindergarten in Malawi for the children of domestic workers and laborers who cannot afford to send their children to school. The local community has already purchased the land and put money aside for the project.
