Project Leader:
Pope Francis
It’s been almost two years since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine — which has displaced a third of the nation’s 41 million people, killed, scarred and wounded tens of thousands of both soldiers and civilians, and devastated the country’s infrastructure and economy, we are still called to help the people of what Pope Francis has called this "martyred nation."The Pope's concern has often been shared publicly in his appeals for peace and humanitarian aid. Since the beginning of the war, the Church has taken to heart the needs of Ukrainian families. From providing medical supplies like bandages and tourniquets to offering aid to the six million internally displaced persons (IDPs) and eight million refugees, the Church has been a beacon of hope for the vulnerable. We are called to see the suffering and touch the wound of the Ukrainian people, constantly praying for peace in this and other countries afflicted by war and contributing in whatever way we can.Every cent donated through Missio.org will go directly into the hands of those who need it most, fulfilling our call to feed the hungry and give water to the thirsty.During this season of Thanksgiving and as we prepare to welcome our Lord, would you consider helping the people of Ukraine?
