Build a Clinic and Convent in Zimbabwe

Project Leader:

Sister Ednella Muchingamwa

The Congregation of the Handmaids of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Mutare and Chipinge, Zimbabwe, serve disadvantaged and marginalized women and children. Their charism is a life of prayer and of service. Like their foundress, they strive to bring that Carmelite charism to meet the needs of the times in and through their ministries in Christian education and in pastoral, social, and health care services. Sisters Ednella and Pauline, and their community in Zimbabwe, are performing their ministries of education and healthcare without a safe home to live in themselves, or an adequate and accessible center for community members seeking their help. They are raising money to build a small clinic and convent. The sisters will also begin school in the new structure. Give $25 to support this important project to meet the needs of their community.

Work at the clinic is progressing well. We are now at the furnishing stage. The clinic is expected to start operating soon but the big challenge of accommodation for the nursing sisters remains. We continue to pray for assistance and we are very grateful to those who have extended a helping hand.

The construction of the clinic is almost complete. The first photo is the sign post to the clinic. The second photo is part of the inside of the clinic and the third photo is the kitchen for prepation of food for the patients. We are greatful to all our supporters all those who will continue to support us. Now we are looking forward to the construction of the convent to provide accommodation to sister who will be serving in the clinic.
