House Syrian Refugees

Project Leader:

Reverend Martin Kmetec

The world is facing a unprecedented refugee crisis. In Syria alone, 4 million people have fled their homes since 2011. Refugees face dangerous, often deadly, journeys in search of safe haven. Camps NGO provide are overcrowded and often lack basic necessities like water, shelter, and food. The Pontifical Mission Societies in Turkey are raising funds to support parishes that are housing refugees. $5000 provides one family a place to live for a year.

Today we celebrate the feast of Pentecost. The feast in which we live the memory of the first mission of the Church, which brought the good news to the populations of Middle East, and which continued until today. It is through generous testimony of christians, that the good news is still proclaimed and many of our brothers have to pay a heavy tribute for the fact that they are Christians. \r\nWhatever you offer in solidarity with them, will be part of mosaic which we want to restore, to give sense and hope to our brothers and sisters from oriental Churches for their faithfulness to Christ. \r\nMany thanks to everyone for every gift and best wishes for Pentecost Sunday. May the Lord bless you and give you his peace. \r\nFr. Martin Kmetec
