Project Leader:
Sister Mary Chilengwe
The local congregation of The Sisters of the Child Jesus operate health institutions, schools, and orphanages. To run all of these institutions, the Sisters have embarked on farming as the source of income. As a congregation they are facing the challenge of not having sanitizers, protective clothes to use when attending to people who are affected with this virus. The people there have no masks, sanitizers to use to prevent getting sick or getting the medical attention. Feeding is also a challenge because people cannot go to work in order to help stop the spread. These restrictions oppress the people even more as they cannot go out to earn a living to feed families. People turn to the convent for help, medicine, and food. The farm needs fridges to store fresh food like chickens and fish in order to distribute accordingly. Please consider helping the Sisters so that they may accomplish many tasks and help vulnerable communities.
