Project Leader:
Brother Paul Kabiti
This is an initiative supporting personal hygiene amongst poor and vulnerable young girls in rural towns in Kenya, empowering those that encounter various forms of stigmatization, abuse, and health challenges. So many girls in the slums of Mweiga have their dreams of education interrupted every month – and are forced to drop out of school. They do not attend school because they cannot afford personal hygiene items and must rely on old rags and leaves – and stay home. Often, the poor quality of these products can result in health complications. Poor access to sanitation facilities further compounds and perpetuates the cycle of shame. This situation also targets and endangers young girls to child predators, early pregnancies and/or marriages, and disease/infections. Please help support this plan so girls can receive these most needed health resources – and be able go to school to achieve their dreams! A gift of $25 will help adolescent girls feel empowered.
