Sister Sister Monica Otoo
All schools in Ghana were asked to lockdown on 15th March 2020 to help control the spread of the Coronavirus. Our children have been home since then and will not return until sometime in the new year. This long stay at home continues to bring untold hardships to children, especially those from poor homes. In the past, Christmas at school was a very special time. Waiting for the birth of Christ and sharing amongst friends on a dedicated day, traditionally called “Sharing Day.” There was music and dancing and singing songs and learning poems. A celebration for all the children and their families, a day filled with love, hope and joy. COVID-19 prevents such reunion, but the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus Sisters still want to deliver to as many families as possible a gift bag, filled with biscuits, rice, drinks and seasonal treats. Will you help the children of Ancilla School? A gift of $25 can buy fruit for a family of four.
