Project Leader:
Sister Lea Christelle Rasoanamina
Aranta is a village in the province of Mahajanga. The rate of malnutrition exceeds of 80% of the population and the children are the first victims of this “fight against hunger.” The Sisters of the Congregation of St. John the Baptist, which has been present for almost 15 years, represent the only legal aid that allows them to receive one meal per day in the school. The situation is very dire, and families send children to school for them to receive food. Our goal is providing one hearty, nutritious meal to each of the 220 children in the village for one year. $25 gives us the opportunity to feed approximately 12 children for one day.
