Sister Sister M. Ancilla Maloney
The Daughters of Mary have a residence for abused girls. The house is located in a remote mountain village in the south Andes. The people of the region are poor and mostly uneducated. There is a lot of sexual abuse and violence against women and girls. The dormitory in the residence, an old adobe structure, literally collapsed 5 years ago in a violent mountain storm. A new dormitory is 3/4 built but funds are needed to complete it. The Sisters hope to be able to take 50 girls. Capacity now is 30 and it's heartbreaking that the Sisters have had to turn girls away, though weather patterns are tough! $20 helps buy a window for the dormitory.

Dear wonderful folks who contributed to the finishing of the House of Mary of Nazareth, a residence for girls who have suffered violence in their your lives! The building is finished, thanks to YOU! I visited the residence today and the Sisters told me that your donations were used for the following. First of all, see the four photos:one of the Sisters in one of the dormitories, another Sister with one of the doors, the Sister by the back wall and then a view of the finished dormitory, a bathroom and the windows.. And your donation also was used for flooring, cement on the balcony, finish the ceiling in two rooms, material for the electrical outlets, and painting.
